Elenor terms of service

These terms explain the basic rules for using Elenor in plain English, without pretending software needs to sound like a medieval land deed.

Last updated: 25 March 2026

Who we are

Elenor is a Windows email application created by Roger Chappell from Media Two. In these terms, “Elenor”, “we”, “our”, and “us” refer to the Elenor software and its publisher.

Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, installing, or using Elenor, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

What Elenor is

Elenor is an email client. It helps you connect to your own email accounts, read and send messages, and organise your mail.

Elenor is not a hosted email service, not a mailbox provider, and not a backup guarantee for your email.

Licence

Elenor is licensed, not sold. Subject to these terms, you may install and use Elenor for your personal or business email use.

You may not copy, resell, sublicense, reverse engineer, redistribute, or exploit Elenor except where permitted by law.

Your accounts and data

You are responsible for the email accounts you connect to Elenor and for making sure you have the right to use them.

You are also responsible for keeping your device secure, protecting your passwords or app passwords, and reviewing any account permissions you grant through providers such as Google or Microsoft.

Third-party services

Elenor interacts with third-party services you choose to use, such as your email provider, Microsoft Store, Google, Microsoft, or your mail host.

Those services have their own terms, privacy policies, and service availability. We are not responsible for outages, policy changes, access restrictions, or account actions taken by those providers.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Elenor:

  • To break the law or violate anyone's rights
  • To send spam, malware, or harmful content
  • To attempt unauthorised access to systems or accounts
  • To interfere with the normal operation or security of the app

Updates and changes

We may update Elenor from time to time to improve features, fix bugs, or change how the app works. We may also update these terms, and when we do, we will post the updated version on this page with a revised date.

Availability and support

We aim to keep Elenor working well, but we do not promise that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every provider, device, or configuration forever.

Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis. We are not obliged to provide fixes, updates, or support within any specific timeframe.

Disclaimer

Elenor is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. That includes implied warranties such as merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Roger Chappell and Media Two are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for any loss of data, profit, business, goodwill, or email access arising from or related to your use of Elenor.

If the law does not allow some of these limits, they apply only to the maximum extent permitted.

Termination

You may stop using Elenor at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to services or features associated with Elenor if required by law, third-party provider rules, or abuse of the app.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, unless another law is required to apply by operation of law.
